ROME. Giancarlo Abete was elected president of the National Amateur League with 100% of the votes, but in the body that oversees the NLD championships there is also a Sardinian: the president of the Sardinia Regional Committee of the FIGC Lnd Gianni Cadoni has been appointed vice president for the Center Area.
The extraordinary elective assembly of the National Amateur League took place yesterday in Rome with the aim of completing the frameworks for the 2021/2024 Olympic four-year period.
The candidacy of Abete, former extraordinary commissioner, as mentioned, was unanimously supported. The voting assembly delegates were 86. “Commitment, unity and let’s go forward all together” were the first words of the new president of the NLD.
«It is a source of satisfaction for me and for football. A united amateur league looking to the future is a positive sign »added Abete. “I think I can represent the League in the federal council as I was legitimately elected and the president has the right to participate – he continued -. Then there is the problematic note of voting in the council in relation to the achievement of mandates carried out and if there is an opportunity to reflect on this, it is welcome. If there are problems, everything will be dealt with in the correct forms and ways. It is an opportunity to clarify this reality ».
Finally on the reforms of the championships he concluded: «There are projects presented by the federation, but they are working hypotheses, but there are no situations defined in the agreement between the protagonists. The National Amateur League is available to investigate the various issues. We are attentive to the overall strategies, because we are not a component that is entrenched ».
The position of deputy vice president will be held by Christian Mossino, current president of the Piedmont and Val d’Aosta regional committee.
As regards the three vice presidents, based on the three territorial areas, Giulio Ivaldi (president of CR Liguria), Saverio Mirarchi (Cr Calabria) and the Central Area were elected for the North Area, as said, the person in charge will be Gianni Cadoni.
