He is 91 years old, but to say that he does not show them is at least an understatement: Nives Fozzer (born in 1930) dominated the Italian Track Athletics Masters Championships which took place from 9 to 12 September, in Rieti.
The standard-bearer of the Nuova Athletica from Friuli has signed the new best Italian performance in the throwing of the hammer thrown at 14.95 meters.
Fozzer was the absolute character of the entire review with 5 Italian titles won. In addition to the hammer, she won the shot put at 5.30 meters, discus throw at 9.55, javelin throw at 8.24 and hammer throw at 6.23.
The athlete already the previous week had won the javelin in Mondovì representing Friuli Venezia Giulia on the occasion of the Trophy of the Regions.
It is worth mentioning that, last year, albeit in the Covid era, Nives played many races in various Italian regions, collecting numerous successes. And this season she has further improved in the technical results of the various throwing specialties disputed competing with an impressive intensity.
In the month of March alone in Viterbo (12-14 March) she was the Italian winter champion in discus, javelin, hammer and hammer and in the latter specialty she scored the best Italian performance with 6.59 meters.
At the Italian Championships in Ancona (18-21 March) Italian indoor title in weight and best European performance with 5.35 m and in Rome (27-28 March) he won the Italian title in the pentathlon of throwing, retouching by one centimeter (5.36 m) the best European weight performance.
The indefatigable and extraordinary Nives is now preparing for the season finale with participation in the Italian Pentathlon Throwing Championship which will be held next month in Catania to defend the title already won last year.
