Barcelona confirms bad news with De Jong and Pedri; the time they will be away and miss the Champions League

Barcelona midfielders Pedro González ‘Pedri’ and Frenkie de Jong have suffered injuries in the latest LaLiga match against Athletic Club. Pedri injured the rectus femoris of his right leg, while De Jong suffered a sprain to the external lateral ligament of his right ankle. This is a hard blow for Lionel Messi and the team, as both players will likely be out for the upcoming matches.

Pedri, who had previously injured the same leg earlier in the season, had to be substituted in tears during the match after trying to make a long run. De Jong, who had also been out with an injury earlier in the season, twisted his ankle in a play and had to be replaced as well.

Barcelona has not specified the timeline for their absence, but it is likely that both players will miss the upcoming games in March, including matches against Mallorca, Atlético de Madrid, Las Palmas, and the crucial Champions League match against Naples.

The team will have to cope with the absence of two key players during this challenging period, which will test their depth and resilience. Fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on the recovery of Pedri and De Jong as they look to get back on the field as soon as possible.
