SASSARI. All as expected in the first elections of the regional committee of the Italian Handball Federation. On Sunday, the island companies elected Carlo Baroffio, the sole candidate for president, who had already been appointed as regional delegate in the past. At the same time, the board of directors of the newborn body that will represent the movement within the regional CONI was also voted: Florentina Pastor, Andrea Giordo, Roberto Campus and Giancarlo Carta will be part of it.
Thus, a path started some time ago, which saw the Sardinian handball finally reach the numbers to be able to establish itself as a regional committee, is completed. Up to now, the representation consisted of a delegate appointed by the national leaders. Baroffio, who has extensive experience as a technician from his side, had among other things already held the role of delegate until 2019, when after his resignation the Sassari lawyer Antonello Fancellu was appointed, who remained in office until last week.
Sardinian handball, which even in this election was not completely united, still has an important opportunity to make a further step of growth, in the wake of the positive period that led to the birth of new companies, the consolidation of others and the “Explosion” of Raimond at the national top.
