Beijing Expo International Pickleball Center Launched
On the 2nd of this month, the Beijing Expo International Pickleball Center was officially unveiled, marking the opening of the largest and highest-standard competition-level pickleball venue in Beijing.
Situated in the International Pavilion of Beijing Yanqing Expo, the center boasts 21 standard competition pickleball courts that can accommodate over 100 people competing simultaneously, meeting the specifications of various international events. Plans are underway to host 3-5 national-level pickleball competitions and 1 international-level competition this year to promote the sport and establish it as a new landmark of mass sports culture in the Yanqing urban area. Additionally, the center will serve as the pickleball training base for Beijing Haidian Foreign Languages Experimental School, focusing on developing campus pickleball projects.
Yang Haibin, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, emphasized the importance of sports in promoting health, social interaction, and education. He expressed hopes that the establishment of the International Pickleball Center will encourage more young people to engage in physical activities. Hu Xiongyi, CEO of Haidian Foreign Languages Education Group, revealed plans to create a comprehensive training and competition system within the school to integrate pickleball as a platform for children’s fitness, entertainment, and competition.
Pickleball, a competitive sport that combines elements of tennis, table tennis, and badminton, is known for its quick learning curve and entertaining gameplay, making it suitable for players of all ages. Its growing popularity has led to the establishment of dedicated facilities like the Beijing Expo International Pickleball Center, providing enthusiasts with top-notch facilities to enjoy and compete in the sport.
