Bologna extend Roma’s winless Serie A series

Bologna have now extended AS Roma’s winless streak in the Italian championship to five games. ÖFB team striker Marko Arnautovic and Co. fought a zero number against coach Jose Mourinho’s squad in front of their own audience on Sunday. Stefan Posch was suspended for the eleventh-placed hosts. The Romans, in sixth place, six points behind fourth-placed Lazio Rome, have little chance of a top-four finish.

Three rounds are still outstanding. 34-year-old Arnautovic was back in the starting XI for the first time since the 1-0 draw at AS Roma on 4 January. For him, this closed the circle against the Romans. With regard to the Europa League semi-final second leg against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday, they were not at their best, with striker Paulo Dybala and goalkeeper Rui Patricio missing. In the last five rounds there were three draws and two defeats.
