Busan World Table Tennis Championships: National Men’s and Women’s Teams Secure Qualifying Spots with Three Consecutive Victories
The national table tennis men’s and women’s teams secured their qualifying spots in the group stage at the 2024 ITTF Busan World Table Tennis Championships after both claiming their third consecutive victories on February 18th.
In the men’s team match, the National Table Tennis Team defeated the Hungarian team 3-0, with Fan Zhendong, Liang Jingkun, and Lin Gaoyuan leading the charge. Fan Zhendong set the tone with a 3-0 victory over Bence Marjoris, while Liang Jingkun and Lin Gaoyuan followed suit with dominant performances to seal the win.
On the women’s side, the national table tennis team also secured a 3-0 victory over the Spanish team. Sun Yingsha, Chen Meng, and Chen Xingtong each played a pivotal role in securing the win for the team.
With both teams securing their qualifying spots in the group in advance, the focus now turns to their upcoming matches. The national table tennis men’s team is set to face off against Croatia, while the women’s team will go head-to-head against Hungary on February 19th.
