“I sensed an opportunity. I grabbed her. I think I used it well. I then added an assist to the goal, which means a very nice bonus for me. I wish it would continue like this,” Bužek does not hide his great satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the past calendar year.

He is helped by the fact that other talented youngsters Slončík, Tkáč, Kolář and Švach also get a chance in the Zlín team. “It’s always better to have guys of a similar age next to you. We talk a lot,” he revealed. However, he knows well that defending the position he has built in the team will not be easy in the spring. “But I believe I can do it,” he says determinedly.

The goal of the Zlín team, who after the fall are in the penultimate playoff spot in the league table, is clearly set for the second half of the season. “I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas holidays with my family and entered the winter training excited. In the spring, we will do our absolute best to save,” Bužek vowed.

The initial position of the Moravian team is far from optimal. “Fortunately, in the last duels of last year, we significantly improved it. In particular, the final four-goal win over Hradec Králové helped us significantly. Even mentally,” he recalled the successful autumn season at the home stadium.

Bužek comes from a football family. Father Libor played for Zlín and neighboring Uherské Hradiště in the elite domestic competition, and at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, grandfather Petr wore the jersey of former TJ Gottwaldov in the federal first league. In addition, older sister Kateřina is currently playing for Sparta Prague.

“Dad experiences my career a lot. We talk a lot about football. I don’t see my grandfather nearly as often. And when we have the opportunity to meet, we talk more about life,” confided the youngest of the family football dynasty. “My sister and I cheer each other on and make fun of each other,” he revealed.

Although Bužek clearly prefers a football career, he is also thinking about the back door. He started studying economics and management at the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. “Thanks to that, I’ll probably become a sports manager one day,” he smiles. Learning is going well for him so far. “They accommodate me at school. I received an individual study plan,” he values.

He also found understanding in the club. “Education is very important for boys. After all, they won’t play football forever. I also graduated from college, so I know it can be done. I try to accommodate him,” coach Červenka is willing to turn a blind eye if, in exceptional cases, Bužek leaves training a little earlier due to an exam.
