Istanbul, 25 August 2021 – The Champions League edition 2021/22. After the play-offs to get to know the last qualifiers to the group stage of the highest European club event, the draw is staged in Istanbul. The 32 teams, four of which are Italian (Inter, Milan, Atalanta and Juventus) will be divided into eight groups of four. The first two classified of each group will enter the round of 16, the third will be “relegated” to the Europa League, while the last will be eliminated from every continental competition. No formation will be able to face one of the same federation, at least until the quarter-finals. The start of the Champions League is scheduled for Tuesday 14 September, while the final act will be held in St. Petersburg on 28 May.

The bands

First band: Chelsea, Villarreal, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Inter, Bayern Monaco, Lilla, Sporting Lisbona

Second band: Real Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Juventus, Manchester United, PSG, Liverpool, Siviglia, Borussia Dortmund

Third band: Porto, Ajax, Leipzig, Atalanta, Zenit St. Petersburg, Benfica, Salzburg, Besiktas

Fourth band: Bruges, Young Boys, Milan, Malmoe, Wolfsburg, Dinamo Kiev, Monaco, Sheriff Tiraspol

The dates of the group stage

First day: 14/15 September

Second day: 28/29 September

Third day: October 19/20

Fourth day: 2/3 November

Fifth day: 23/24 November

Sixth day: 7/8 December

Timetable, TV and streaming

The draw will be staged on Thursday 26 August, starting at 6 pm. Fans will be able to follow it on Sky Sport 24 (channel 200 of the satellite) and free-to-air on Channel 20. Then there is the streaming option: those who have a subscription to Sky can count on the Sky Go website or application. The alternatives are Now, the Sky streaming service, or the Mediaset Infinity app, by selecting Channel 20 from the schedule.
