Last year, in fact, only an agreement with an annual duration was signed, because both parties wanted to understand if it was of mutual satisfaction to work together. In short, we wanted to make a point at the end of the season to evaluate this first championship as Machacka’s head coach.
«We have always believed in medium-term work. Only in this way can we think of making young people grow, who lacking experience must be able to find a serene environment, with little pressure and without sudden changes “, underlines the white celeste president Silvio Bernardi after signing the contract with the coach,” despite the complicated, not to mention tiring period, there is great enthusiasm and desire to start over immediately. Ivo Machacka is also satisfied to be able to continue his work in Cortina, who wants to improve the good things already done this year, with fifth place in Alps and the semifinals reached in the Italian championship.
«We want to make a qualitative leap, completely eliminating some small problems that we encountered», declares the coach, «for this reason we have already planned individual and team activities, both on and off the ice. I have a group of guys full of determination and quality. Working with them is a pleasure and it would be nice to be able to get even greater satisfaction than the season just ended ».
