Rome, 11 November 2021 – Dramatic situation in Germany for the exponential growth of Covid contagion. Recorded a record number of Covid-19 infections with today 50,196 cases in 24 hours, a sign of the violence of the epidemic wave that is hitting the country, according to the health surveillance institute Robert Koch. Infections have never been higher: it is there first time since the start of the pandemic the threshold of 50,000 new cases per day in the country is exceeded. The number of deaths since yesterday is equal to 235.
It also grows pressure on hospital care units for this trend attributed in particular to relatively low vaccination rate of the German population, just over 67%. Among the most affected states Saxony and Bavaria. Berlin, for its part, has introduced new restrictions targeting unvaccinated people. From Monday, in the capital, unvaccinated people will not be able to access, in particular, restaurants without open spaces, bars, sports halls and hairdressers. A negative test for Covid will no longer allow access to these public places if users are not vaccinated or cannot prove that they have been cured of the disease.
