The Diamondbacks are looking to add some power to their lineup, and they may have their sights set on free agent slugger Joc Pederson. According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the defending National League champions are currently in talks with Pederson, who could serve as a designated hitter for the team.
While Pederson’s performance in the 2023 season may not have been up to his usual standards, with a .764 OPS and 15 home runs in 121 games for the Giants, he still has an impressive track record. Over his 10 seasons in the MLB, the 31-year-old has accumulated an OPS of .800 and 186 home runs, earning him two All-Star Game appearances.
If the Diamondbacks are able to strike a deal with Pederson, they could add some much-needed power to their lineup and potentially strengthen their chances of returning to the World Series. Fans will have to wait and see how negotiations with Pederson unfold.
