“New Details Revealed 14 Years After Tragic Shooting of Soccer Star Salvador Cabañas”

In a shocking revelation, journalist Carlos Jiménez, also known as C4 Jiménez, has disclosed new details about the 2010 shooting of former Paraguayan soccer star Salvador Cabañas. Cabañas, who was a standout player for América at the time, suffered a gunshot wound to the head in the early hours of January 25, 2010, at a nightclub in Mexico City.

According to Jiménez, Cabañas miraculously survived the attack despite the bullet hitting his skull, thanks to it being a small caliber. The shooter was identified as José Jorge Balderas Garza, also known as ‘El JJ’, a member of the Beltrán Leyva cartel.

The incident took place at the Bar Bar nightclub, frequented by celebrities, athletes, and members of organized crime. Footage from the nightclub’s cameras shows Cabañas entering the bathroom, followed by ‘El JJ’.

Jiménez revealed a statement from a witness who worked at the nightclub, recounting the events that led to the shooting. “According to what the bathroom worker declares, which is the version established by the authority, they are in the bathroom urinating and ‘El JJ’ tells Cabañas ‘what happened to the goals, why haven’t you scored?’ Cabañas gets upset and says ‘what goals?'”

The altercation escalated, leading to ‘El JJ’ pulling out a small caliber pistol and shooting Cabañas in the head. Despite the severity of the injury, Cabañas survived, but his football career was tragically cut short as a result.

‘El JJ’ was eventually arrested in 2011 and has been imprisoned since, receiving a 36-year sentence in October 2022. The investigation was aided by the discovery of ‘El JJ’s’ jacket, left behind at the scene, containing his identification and crucial evidence.

The shooting devastated Cabañas, who was at the peak of his career and had recently represented Paraguay at the 2010 World Cup. Despite his incredible talent and successful stint with América, the bullet ended his time as a professional soccer player.

Now 43 years old, Cabañas continues to live with the effects of the shooting, which dramatically altered the trajectory of his life and career. The revelation of these new details sheds further light on a tragic and harrowing event that profoundly impacted the world of football.
