Il CONI Sicily, in collaboration with theDepartment of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, launched the project “Sport: a right for all 2023/2024“. This initiative, financed through the 2023 contributions provided for by regional law 8/78, aims to promote the right to sport for all students, offering them the opportunity to practice different disciplines using the schools’ sports facilities.

Today’s meeting at the ‘Raffaele Poidomani’ Comprehensive Institute in Modica highlighted the commitment and determination in promoting sporting activity among the new generations. The two schools involved in the project are the “Santa Marta” State Comprehensive Institute and the “Raffaele Poidomani” State Comprehensive Institute.

The disciplines included in the project range from fencing to football, from tennis to table tennis, from biking to volleyball, up to athletics. Primary and secondary students will have the opportunity to participate in lessons taught by industry experts, providing them with a comprehensive and enriching experience.

The project was strongly desired, pushed and supported by the CONI Provincial Delegate of Ragusa, Maria Monisteri, with the responsibility entrusted to the local CONI trustee, Leandro Giurdanella.

The representatives of the schools involved are:

“Santa Marta” State Comprehensive Institute: Marilena Buscema (Primary) and Monica Pagano (Secondary). “Raffaele Poidomani” State Comprehensive Institute: Carla Migliore and Giusi Floridia (Primary) and Elisabetta Cerruto (Secondary).

The aim of the project is to promote an active lifestyle, providing students with the opportunity to discover and cultivate their interest in sport. CONI of Ragusa is committed to ensuring that every young person has access to these precious opportunities, thus contributing to the formation of healthy and active individuals.
