Biathlete Benedikt Doll clearly missed his third sprint victory in a row. The 33-year-old only finished 19th at the home World Cup in Ruhpolding over ten kilometers after two penalty laps. The Black Forester was over a minute behind the flawless winner Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen from Norway at the finish.
Justus Strelow took sixth place as the best German in the Chiemgau Arena (1 penalty lap/+33.8 seconds). Philipp Horn (2/+49.2) came in eleventh, closely followed by Philipp Nawrath (2/+54.2) and Johannes Kühn (1/+55.1) in 14th and 15th place.

Behind Christiansen, the Italian Tommaso Giacomel (1/+16.9) and Tarjei Bö (0/+20.1) reached the podium. The Norwegian also took the lead in the sprint ranking from Doll. The World Cup ends on Sunday in Ruhpolding, with the women in the pursuit at 12.30 p.m. The men’s hunting race takes place at 2:45 p.m. (both on ZDF and Eurosport).
