Donte DiVincenzo continues his splendid year in the Knicks jersey with a 35-point effort (7/11 from three) in game 3 of the second round Playoffs series against the Pacers, which however was not enough to guarantee New York the 3- 0.
“We lost, so the way I see it doesn’t mean anything… I have to improve, do well in other things too, not just in points, and that’s what I’ll focus on,” explains the guard in the national team squad. “We must not let ourselves be influenced by a few whistles against us, or complain… Whatever lineup is on the pitch at that moment, it has all the tools to win without thinking about anything else… We wasted 9/10 points ahead, so we need to improve on the level of collective. This must be our mentality.”
Thanks to the injuries that have affected some teammates, DiVincenzo is now one of the most important players on coach Thibodeau’s board.
In 9 NBA Playoffs games the guard averaged 17.8 points with 2.5 assists and an excellent 45% shooting from long range on almost 8 attempts per game.
Furthermore, DiVincenzo is first in the postseason with 32 triples scored.
