Four-year ban: French national soccer player Paul Pogba is facing the end of his career after a positive doping test.
The 30-year-old Juventus midfielder was banned for four years by the responsible sports court on Thursday (February 29, 2024). Juventus confirmed this to the AFP news agency. The Italian anti-doping court followed the prosecutor’s request in terms of punishment. In an initial reaction, Juventus said it had “taken note” of the decision.
Pogba tested positive for testosterone in August after a Serie A game between Juve and Udinese Calcio. The B sample confirmed the result. Pogba has been temporarily suspended since the beginning of September.
Pogba had admitted to taking a food supplement whose package leaflet had mentioned performance-enhancing substances.
The 81-time French international has been under contract with the Italian record champions again since 2022, for whom he played from 2012 to 2016.
