Dubai buys itself a place in the next Aba-Liga. Now there are no more doubts according to the report of the Mozzart portal. From the 2024-2025 season, and for three years, a team from the Emirs will participate in the league that brings together the best teams from the former Yugoslavia.
The ABA-Liga Assembly has given its verdict. Buducnost was not present, Partizan abstained. The other nine member clubs expressed a positive opinion.
This is thanks to a colossal increase in the financing amount guaranteed by the Emirs: last week there was talk of 1.5 million dollars a year, 4.5 in total for three seasons. According to reconstruction of Mozzart, that offer had been rejected by the member clubs.
So here’s the relaunch: 2.5 million a year, and not in dollars, but in euros. 1.7 basic figure, plus other clauses. Dubai Basketball, as is known, should then also take a place in the EuroCup, and then enter the EuroLeague in 2025-2026.
