Erica at the top in the States: she is the best among the Italians

Andrich has been in the US for two years: for her sport and study. She made a name for herself with dunks in Denver

She is from Belluno, or rather from Agordina, the best… Italian volleyball player in America. This, at least, has established College Life Italia, the agency that deals with organizing study and volleyball experiences in the States for Italian athletes.

The MVP award, most valuable player, went to Erica Andrich, the 1998-born spiker who has played in the United States for two seasons now. And who is also a promising designer, her cartoons illustrating the column “Vivere l’Agordino” in the Corriere delle Alpi.

«The award», explains Andrich herself, «is an award as MVP of the year among all the volleyball athletes who went to play in the States with the support of the College Life Italia agency. In practice, Cli, or College life Italy, at the end of the season nominated me as the best player among all those who left for the USA through their agency ».

The season of Erica Andrich’s team has just ended and has given many emotions (and many victories) but also left a hint of final disappointment.

«We finished third on an equal footing with the second», says the Bellunese, «which is not bad. But, unfortunately, we were unable to qualify for the subsequent stages ».

Erica, originally from Vallada Agordina, had dragged the Denver University volleyball team to win the regular season in the previous championship. In America, he attended a master’s degree in Marketing communication. Previously, in Italy, he had obtained a three-year degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona. Andrich herself had then won the contest launched to draw the medal for the fourteenth edition of the Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon with her work “L’abbraccio”.

In the US, on the other hand, it made its way to the sound of points: 250 in the season. It is a pillar of the representative set up by Denver University.

Andrich is not the only one among the Belluno girls (in addition to her there are, for example, Laura Fiabane, Giuliana Jaku and Emma Fistarol) who in recent months have seized the opportunity offered by agencies like this one to study and play volleyball in the States, participating in sport and study programs.
