European fencing championships: Italy gold in women’s team foil

Italy won the gold medal in women’s foil at the European Championships in Antalya, Turkey, beating France 45-25 in the final. The blue Alice Volpi, Arianna Errigo, Martina Favaretto and Francesca Palumbo thus won the tenth medal for the Italian expedition in the continental championships, the second gold. Italy reached the final by beating Romania 45-20 and then regulating Germany 45-23 in the semifinals, who then took the bronze medal by beating Poland 45-31.
