Ferrero leaves prison and goes to house arrest, the former Sampdoria patron will spend Christmas at home

MILAN. The Review Court granted house arrest to the Roman entrepreneur and owner of Sampdoria Massimo Ferrero against the opinion of the Public Prosecutor of Catanzaro who had requested the maintenance of the precautionary custody measure in prison, recognizing the risk of reiteration of the crime. Ferrero was arrested on 6 December on charges of fraudulent bankruptcy as part of the investigation into the bankruptcy of his 4 Calabrian companies (Ellemme, Blufin, Blu Cinematografica and Maestrale).

After yesterday’s hearing, in which from what we learn the hypotheses of the crime were not discussed but only the precautionary needs, the Court therefore ordered the replacement of the measure of pre-trial detention in prison for Ferrero – defended by the lawyers Luca Ponti and Pina Tenga – with house arrest in the Roman home of the entrepreneur prescribing him not to communicate even by telephone or computer with people other than those who live with him or who assist him. From what legal sources report, the granting of house arrest has nothing to do with the age reasons of the former Sampdoria president (club not involved in the investigation), which are not mentioned in the device, and the reasons remain confidential and will be published by the Court within 45 days.
