FINAL SIX of rhythmic gymnastics with the Butterflies and Sofia Raffaeli

The great event is ever closer. The show of rhythmic gymnastics is about to arrive, and Turin once again can’t wait to embrace the best athletes on the national and international scene. On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April the doors of the Pala Gianni Asti will open wide to host the Final Six, the last stage of the A1, A2, B and C national rhythmic gymnastics championship – San Carlo Veggy Good Trophy – which will see on the platform the best Italian teams who will compete to win the Scudetto. The direction of the event will once again be entrusted to Eurogymnica Torino led by president Luca Nurchi and Sports Director Marco Napoli, who will host another highly prestigious event in the Piedmontese capital, on behalf of the Italian Gymnastics Federation, with the support of the Piedmont Region and the patronage of the City of Turin.

The highlight of the weekend will arrive on Sunday 7 April starting from 2pm, when the top flight will take to the stage with the semi-finals: the six participating teams will compete in three direct clashes which will decide the three finalists who will compete for the assignment of the Italian title. The draw saw the highly favored girls from Ginastica Fabriano paired with Armonia d’Abruzzo Chieti in group A, Udinese with Forza e Coraggio Milano in group B and Raffaello Motto Viareggio with San Giorgio 79 Desio in group C.

At 4.45pm, the winning teams will face each other in the grand final.

The Scudetto is up for grabs, of course, but there is also the ambition on the part of the competing athletes to prepare in the best possible way in view of the most important event of all, the most awaited event of the last three years: the Paris Olympic Games. In fact, some of them will be protagonists this summer on French soil: among these is, naturally, Sofia Raffaeli. The current reigning world vice champion will take to the stage in Turin to try to lead Fabriano Gymnastics to its eighth consecutive championship, a title that would allow her to move away from Muggiò 75 and Armonia d’Abruzzo, stuck at seven, and to get closer to the record of the star, held only by Aurora Fano with its 10 championships. The “Vulcano di Chiaravalle” will be accompanied by teammate Milena Baldassarri, already sixth at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games and great protagonist of the previous editions of the event. As for the foreigners, the most anticipated are the German Darja Varfolomeev (Raffaello Motto Viareggio), her compatriot Anastasia Simakova (Udinese) and the Ukrainian Viktoriia Onopriienko (Armonia d’Abruzzo Chieti).

Also on Sunday, starting from 12 pm, the Serie A2 play-offs will also be played, during which the third, fourth and fifth places in the regular season will play for the last available place to move up to Serie A1. Terranuova and Cervia Ginnastica e Sport won promotion to the top flight in 2025; the third place up for grabs, however, will be fought out by Opera Roma, Albachiara Lucca and Moderna Legnano.

However, the event will start on Saturday 6 April, starting from 5pm, when you will be able to watch the exciting play-offs and play-outs of Serie B and C, which will decide the last two teams saved or promoted to Serie B for the next year. The teams that will take to the stage will be Iris Firenze, Evoluzione Danza, Kines, Ritmica 2000, Ariele, Ginnastica Ritmica Padova, Lo Zodiaco and Azzurra.

The two days of rhythmic gymnastics celebration will be enriched by the presence of

Italian National Team. The Butterflies, led by Technical Director Emanuela Maccarani, are ready to return to the stage where they will bring the exercises that will accompany them throughout this season full of international events up to the Paris Olympics. However, that of Maurelli and his teammates will not be the only performance on the programme, given that there will also be that of Eurogymnica Torino, who recently finished the regular season of Serie A1 with an excellent ninth place which earned the subalpine club the achievement of the seasonal objective, namely salvation in the highest national category.
