From the United States comes the story of Scot Pollard, a long-time protagonist in the NBA between the 90s and 00s, currently in danger of losing his life due to a hereditary heart problem highlighted following a virus contracted in 2021. Pollard, NBA champion in 2008 , is currently registered in three different hospitals in the USA (in Indiana, Tennessee and Illinois) for the possibility of a heart transplant, which is also made difficult by his physical dimensions. “The surgeon told me it’s like winning the lottery, waiting is the hardest part,” Pollard told the Indianapolis Star.
