NEW YORK. The world of Formula One is in mourning: the great Argentine driver Carlos Reutemann, who between ’72 and ’82 had linked his name to Brabham, Ferrari, Lotus and Williams, has died. He was 79 years old. He had been suffering from kidney and bowel problems for some time, so he had undergone surgery. in his long career in Formula One, Reuteman, aka Lole, had won twelve Grands Prix and six poles, reaching the podium 45 times. Even Ferrari, with which he had won four Grands Prix, paid tribute to the champion by dedicating a photographic post to him with a greeting to the “ace of Santa Fe”, in Argentina, where Reutemann had embarked on a political career, first as governor and then as senator.
