Four more Covid cases. That’s nine in total. In the end, the one that broke out in the changing room of the Belluno Dolomites in recent days is a real outbreak.

Half a team is at home with a positive swab and the need to observe the quarantine period, diversified according to the vaccination situation. The club’s decision to suspend training on Friday and Saturday, after the first signs of typical symptoms of the virus, was not enough. Meanwhile, the request for postponement for Mestre – Dolomites scheduled for Sunday is official, which therefore will not be played as widely predictable. And given the delicate numerical situation, not even the trip to Levico Terme on January 30th seems so sure that it can be tackled.

“The Belluno Dolomites have resumed training on the green rectangle of Sedico”, we read, referring to the training carried out yesterday among the few negative players. «It does so in very small ranks: with about ten elements. Because, after the last round of swabs, four other cases of Covid positivity emerged within the group. This means that, in total, the number of infected athletes rises to nine. In fact, an entire team, or almost ».

Already in recent days there were no doubts about the impossibility of playing in Mestre, as there were also some over-odds among the positives: a criterion provided for by the protocol. Now, however, the high number of infected allows you to make the request beyond the age of the players.

“The company is preparing the documentation to officially request the postponement of the challenge scheduled for Sunday”.

STOP JUNIORES NATIONAL

In the meantime, the National Juniores Championship will restart only on February 5th. The tournament was supposed to resume to coincide with the new start of the D series, but it is only mentioned for the first weekend of next month. It will therefore take a little more patience for the youth team of the Dolomites coached by Ivan Da Riz.
