Only official status is missing, but the matches with Silvolley and Treviso Bortoluzzi will not be played: “We used the regulation given our Covid situation”

Da Rold Logistics Belluno will access the playoffs as before even without having to play the two recoveries of the matches postponed for Covid against Silvolley and Treviso and will find Valsugana volley in the first round.
There is still no official status, but in all likelihood the two pending matches (a spin, against the Trebaseleghe team, and a big match between first and second classified, against Treviso) will not be recovered. The federation, in fact, had granted time until 2 May, but the Belluno people have just come out of quarantine.
Hence the decision to opt, as required by the same official regulation, to renounce to recover these last two races.
«Due to a norm on the calling of championships», the team manager Alessio Bortoluzzi anticipates, «for proven reasons related to Covid it is allowed not to finish the recoveries by freezing the ranking at present. We have decided to use this possibility and we are waiting to have the official status from Fipav to which we have already sent all the required documentation; in Trebaseleghe and Treviso we have already communicated our choice ».
If even Belluno – as it now seems almost inevitable – does not recover these two matches, Candeago and his teammates would close the season in first place (at 24 points, the same as Treviso who, however, played one more game and lost the direct clash of the first leg).
They would thus draw the fourth classified in group D2 of Serie B, the Valsugana volley, in the first round of the playoffs. The next two weeks, therefore, will serve precisely to try to recover in the best possible way the condition in view of the playoff marathon which should start on Wednesday 12 May.
“Everything will depend on the medical examinations that the boys have to do. We have already prepared everything necessary to carry out the checks and be able to return them to the field in maximum safety. Our will ”, concludes Bortoluzzi,“ is to have everyone available, but we will follow the instructions of the doctors and the results of the checks, hoping that no anomalies will be found ”.
In the meantime, the boys of coach Diego Poletto are back to train in the gym.
«This is a strange year», comments the coach, «and it was known that a problem of this type could happen to us as well as to other teams. If the contagion had developed during the playoffs, we would have stopped playing. Thus, instead, we still have time to present ourselves in a more than dignified manner to the decisive challenges. If I had to rate the team, I would definitely give it a 9, all the more so if you consider the commitment of a group of people who, despite having a full-time job, play volleyball with the utmost seriousness. In addition to the physical form, the hope is to rediscover the mental solidity that has always distinguished us ». –
