LONDON. The prospect that Gennaro Gattuso could become the Totthenham coach has raised protests among fans, who have launched a campaign on Twitter against the arrival of the former Napoli coach via the hashtag #NoToGattuso. The hostility towards Gattuso – report the English media – concerns some controversial statements that the former blue midfielder had made on topics such as marriage between people of the same sex – but referring to church weddings – and women in football. The protest was communicated to the club by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporter Trust, the association that brings together the clubs of Spurs fans. After the ‘freezing’ of negotiations with Paulo Fonseca, rumors began to circulate about the English club’s interest in Gattuso, but the company never received confirmations or denials. Other names associated with the Spurs are those of Antonio Conte and a return of Mauricio Pochettino.
