Medical director Pinna: «Cardiac arrest at 5.50pm, death at 7.10pm»
(LaPresse) «Gigi Riva arrived at the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari around 3 in the morning, his condition immediately appeared serious, due to a coronary disease». The hospital doctors thus in a press conference in which they noted that they had visited Rombo di Tuono and “stabilised”, suggesting that he undergo an angioplasty surgery after having performed a coronagraphy at 10 in the morning. «Riva – reports the medical director of the Brotzu of Cagliari Raimondo Pinna – refused, saying that he was afraid, that he wanted to think about it, and that he wanted to consult with his family. At 5.50pm he went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the operating room. Death occurred at 7.10pm» (LaPresse)
