Started from Cagliariil Giro Women 2022 after 10 stages closed at Padova with a sprint that saw the success of Chiara Consonniwho thus gave the three of a kind toItalia after the previous brace of Elisa Balsamo. Apart from the final pink jersey, two stages were also won by Van Vleutenwhich happens so to the compatriot Anna Van Der Breggen as testimony to the continuing Dutch domination in women’s cycling: a dominance that is however beginning to falter thanks to the new blue lever that is advancing. Advances but not yet to the point of taking down the colossus Van Vleutenthan on the streets of Padova further enriches an already excellent career and not yet reached the final stages.
