GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES 2024

Patrick Kipngeno (KEN – Run2gether ON AG) feared the muddy conditions of the last few days, but the sun which completely dried the route completely in a few hours practically paved the way for him. The Kenyan took the lead from the start and held the lead until the finish line. Elhousine Elazzaoui (MAR – Nnormal) had to settle for second place.

For us, it is worth mentioning the third place of an amazing Daniel Pattis (ITA – Brooks): «I didn’t really know what to expect from this race, especially given the altitude. I’ve felt good all week, but I know it doesn’t mean anything. I was excited and nervous at the start because I wanted to do really well after the result in Japan. In the end, the race went well and I’m thrilled with this podium.”

Perfect debut for Joyce Njeru

Joyce Njeru (KEN – Atletica Saluzzo) achieved her first victory in the Golden Trail World Series. “I am so happy. On the starting line I was getting a little nervous because I wanted this victory so much and I knew I was capable of it. But I immediately calmed down and got back into my rhythm. Today it wasn’t about fighting with others, but about fighting with myself to do the perfect race. I knew I was strong both uphill and downhill, and today I proved it.” Despite a race run at a truly high level, Maude Mathys (CHE – Asics), victorious in Japan, had to settle for second place in this Chinese stage. Grayson Murphy (USA – Saucony) did not disappoint, third despite the cramps, she showed class to spare…
