Golf China Open: Li Haotong Temporarily Ranks Third

The 29th China Golf Open kicked off on May 2nd in Shenzhen, with Chinese player Li Haotong making an impressive start. With a score of 64, 8 under par, Li Haotong currently sits in third place, just one shot behind French player Lan Gaske and Sweden’s Soderberg.

During his round, Li Haotong did not have any “bogeys” (one stroke above par) and managed to capture 8 “birdies” (one stroke below par). Reflecting on his performance, Li Haotong commented, “I hit a lot of good shots today and my putts were solid, which was quite surprising. I played quite well here. I hope this time I can do better than before.”

Lan Gaske had a remarkable round starting from the back nine, making 7 consecutive “birdies” from the 16th hole onwards to finish at 9 under par, securing the top spot. Meanwhile, Soderberg started strong from the 6th hole, capturing 5 consecutive “birdies” and tying with Lan Gaske at the end of the day.

In addition to the exciting golf action, the tournament organizers and the Golf Heritage Museum have teamed up to launch the “Golf Heritage Study Tour” during the 29th China Golf Open. This initiative aims to educate the public about the history of golf and create an immersive experience for spectators through museum visits and other activities.

Xing Wenjun, director of the Golf Heritage Museum, highlighted the importance of showcasing golf culture and driving the development of the sport through museum initiatives and event collaborations.

The 29th Volvo Golf China Open is organized by the China Golf Association and promises to deliver more thrilling moments as the competition continues.
