The archery competition at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo officially started with the 72 arrows in the ranking round, which established the scoreboard of direct matches in Paralympic archery. Two archers of the DLF Voghera on the platform: in the men’s compound Paolo Cancelli finished in 28th place with 669 points and returns to the field today at 3.25 am in Italy (10.25 am Tokyo time) shooting in the round of 32 against the Slovak Pavlik. In the men’s Olympic arc the rookie Stefano Travisani finished the qualification in twelfth place with 609 points, a result thanks to which on Friday 3 September he will be on the field in the round of 32 against the Indian Singh.
Today in the competition there will be only compound bow, while tomorrow Monica Boggioni returns to the water in the 100 breaststroke and on Monday 30 August in the 50 backstroke, then there are three days of break and Monica will close with the 200 medley. The goal is to do the maximum. If Monica Boggioni has already won two bronze medals and is ready to get on the podium again, the same can be said of the athletes of the Equa Team of Santa Cristina, which the president Ercole Spada has had the opportunity to cure over the years up to conquering podiums in every national and international event. Tomorrow it will be the turn of the paratriathlon, with Giovanni Achenza in the male PTWC category and Rita Cuccuru in the female PTWC category, who have already had the opportunity to try the course. Achenza at 6.30 am in Tokyo (11.30 pm on Saturday in Italy) will have to defend the bronze medal won in Rio. –
