New year full of surprises for the Trail dei Corni, the race organized by Sportiva Valbronese which will take place on Sunday on the 26 km route with 1900 m of altitude difference; it touches the two sides of Valbrona, passing through five other neighboring municipalities (Asso, Canzo, Lasnigo, Oliveto Lario, Valmadrera…) and two provinces, that of Como and Lecco. On the route there are many views that frame Lake Como, but also small corners of paradise adorned with mountain huts and old mountain pastures that make the route a journey into the history of our valleys.
2024 will be a very interesting year; in addition to being the first test of the “Crazy Skyrunning Italy Cup”, the athletes of the Italian National Fisky team will also be present at the start of the Trail, Matteo Anselmi (Sport Project VCO), Luca Carrara (Skyrunning Adventure ASD), Luca Compagnoni (Skyrunning Adventure ASD) , Simone Dalle (APD Pont Saint-Martin), Gabriele Gaggero (GSA COMETA), Matteo Lora (Skyrunning Adventure ASD), Fabio Martinat (Piossasco Trail Runners ASD) and Eddj Nani (Skyrunning Adventure ASD). For women, all eyes are on the Italian team Benedetta Broggi (Sport Project VCO), Margherita De Giuli (Climb Runners), Cristina Germozzi (ASD Pegarun), Corinna Ghirardi (Skyrunning Adventure ASD), Roberta Jacquin (ASD Pegarun), Giulia Pol (GSOrecchiella Garfagnana ASD), Chiara Regis (Altitude Skyrunning Team ASD) and Francesca Rusconi (GEFalchi Olginatesi) who on the occasion of the first seasonal meeting to be held in Valbrona from 5 to 7 April, will use the race as an excellent test run in view of the upcoming summer races .
Another novelty this year is the “Tücc da curza”, the Trail dei Corni beer created in collaboration with the “DuLac” brewery of Galbiate. A special beer, created thinking about the mountains surrounding Valbrona and the suggestion of a landscape that transmits positive sensations, harmony and well-being. Already present in various shops in the area, it will be possible to taste its flavor during this day dedicated to sport.
In 2023 Luca del Pero and Alice Gaggi won, setting new records to beat, who knows if anyone will be able to do better; the challenge begins!
A day of fun also for families and small trail runners, with the advent of the new edition the Junior Trail is also reconfirmed, now in its fourth edition. The “mini runners” will compete on the route set up in the party area with distinct categories, which will prepare future runners for the Trail paths.
Already with a good number of registered people, around 220, the 2024 edition promises to be memorable. Furthermore, the organization reminds you that registrations will be until 11.59pm on 3 April and it is possible to register on the Endu website; they will then reopen on the day of the race from 7:00 to 8:30 until the bibs are sold out. The start of the race will be at 9.00, see you at the start!
