The police view the footage from the cameras inside the Olimpico, the TV reports and the videos on social media. The Daspo is ready for the person responsible and a fine for the Lazio club
A precise throw, from about twenty meters – perhaps even less -, a parabola that from the Tiber stand ended on the neck of Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove. The Roman Digos is reconstructing the trajectory followed by the hard plastic beer bottle that hit the Roma player who had just been replaced by Jos Mourinho on Wednesday evening. The young man collapsed on the grass for a few moments, but by a very lucky chance he did not suffer serious injuries, given that the container – of those sold in the stadium not only in the internal kiosks but also by drinkers, who are supposed to pour the product into a glass of plastic which they often run out of — it was also half full.
The investigations
Those investigating are viewing the footage from the cameras inside the Olimpico, aimed at the Tiber and controlled by the Gos (Security Operational Group) room of the police. Other images could be obtained from TV reports and videos published on social media. Investigations that will cost the person responsible for throwing the bottle, sitting in a sector reserved for the Biancoceleste fans, at least a five-year sentence, as well as a criminal complaint, although a lifelong ban from sports facilities cannot be ruled out. Especially considering the tense evening experienced inside and outside the stadium for the Lazio-Roma derby of the Italian Cup. The Biancoceleste club also risks a heavy fine.
Injured fans
In addition to the Roma fan Francesco Leuzzi, 31, stabbed by five Lazio ultras in a pub in Prati four hours after the match, hospitalized in serious condition, there is another Giallorossi supporter, 28, who he lost an ear when a paper bomb exploded in the Curva Sud always launched from the Tiber before the match with volleys of flares, collected and fired again by the Roman players against the Lazio players. The young man has a prognosis of 60 days. In the next few hours the Capital Police Headquarters, based on information from Digos and the investigators from the Prati police station, could issue a series of complaints and warnings against those responsible for throwing firecrackers precisely on the basis of the videos acquired by the police. But other investigations now concern the security measures at the Olimpico, the functioning of the filters before and after the turnstiles to understand how so many rockets and rudimentary devices could have entered.
