A child chasing a basketball bouncing off the floor. Three boys playing, laughing, having fun. “Memories” of a boy who became a man, who loves sport and to whom the daily appointment with the ball was a way to meet up with friends.

It is the latest single by Nicola Ceriana from Pavia, who with over 20,000 views across all digital platforms, including almost 14,000 on Youtube alone, has beaten all the other songs. The video was shot at the PalaRavizza in collaboration with Omnia Basket (for which he recorded the anthem) and the sports sector of the Municipality of Pavia. «It’s my tenth single and I’m really happy that it’s going very well – says the singer-songwriter from Pavia – I write words and music and Paolo Marconi arranges them for me. This was born remembering the youth years. I love the ball in wedges, but certain habits are valid for all those who have practiced a sport, volleyball or football. The best years of my life are related to basketball, they were carefree times, with the future ahead and you didn’t even realize how beautiful they were, simple things that are missing a lot today. The child you see at the beginning is me who takes my first steps on the pitch and dreams of playing in Serie B. I decided to publish Ricordi in April, the month of my fiftieth birthday ».

No cd on the horizon. «I thought about it, they advised me against it because now they are not sold, only digital is going even if the dream would be vinyl – explains Ceriana – I wrote ten singles and for each of these I shot a video. I am happy that the viewing of my videos is constantly and continuously increasing, reaching numbers that when I started I didn’t think I would reach. There is my channel on Youtube ».

Three years ago Nicola Ceriana left his job as a restaurateur and almost as a bet he went to Marconi to offer him the songs he had prepared. “I have always played the guitar and composed songs for passion and for pleasure because I like to write – underlines the singer-songwriter – I showed up in the studio with my sheets of paper and, instead of slamming the door in my face, we started a collaboration that continues still. Talent? Apart from a question of age, I don’t think I’ll ever participate because behind me there are record companies that I don’t have ».

There is a video that Ceriana cares very much about. «It is the one linked to the song” The ghost of the night “, born during the lockdown – explains the Pavese – shot at night in a deserted Pavia». –
