Dragons recorded its fifth consecutive victory on Sunday. National champion Ghent was defeated 3-0 on the eighth day of the ION Hockey League. The Antwerp team will maintain their undefeated status in 2024.

The Argentinian Nicolas Della Torre (48.) opened the scoring, Felix Denayer (53.) and Henri Raes (54.) added further. Dragons is in fifth place in the rankings of the Belgian highest hockey class with 30 points, one point behind number four Ghent.

Waterloo Ducks moved into second position with 32 points thanks to an easy 3-0 win against Daring. Leopold, which won 1-5 against Royal Victory, is comfortably the leader with 42 units. Tom Boon scored four goals. There are still four matchdays to complete in the regular part of the competition.

Braxgata in turn won 3-1 against Oree and thus kept pace with Ghent. Oree only follows in eighth place with 26 pieces.

In Leopold’s wake, six clubs are still eligible for the remaining three spots in the play-offs, with a difference of only two points. Herakles (3-1 win against White Star) and Racing (1-2 win against Ukkel Sport) occupy seventh and sixth place respectively with 30 points.

Uccle (20), Daring (15), Victory (6) and White Star (5) are in the basement of the rankings, in places nine to twelve.
