Marcell Jacobs’ first son, Jeremy, would be completely abandoned and forgotten by his father. The accusation, very strong, came directly from the child’s mother, Renata Erika Szabo, former partner of the athletics champion. Szabo has in fact released his first interview to the press made to the weekly “Chi” in which he recounts the complex relationship between Jacobs and his eldest son: “Jeremy is seven years old and suffers from the absence of his father”. A total absence, even on the little boy’s birthday: “Jeremy turned 7 last December 14th but we didn’t receive a call from his father. He could send a vowel or a written message because Jeremy is able to read. Instead, nothing. It was only at Christmas that we received a call from the paternal grandmother, who then passed her dad to congratulate him. Our son sees his little cousin waiting for his dad at the window and when Jeremy knows that dad is coming, he does the same thing. Too bad that Marcell, on the other hand, never arrives ”.
The absence of gold in the one hundred meters in Tokyo made itself felt on the day he returned from the Olympics: “In theory Jeremy had to go and pick him up at the airport in Rome with all his family”, reveals the former partner. “Too bad, though, that the day before he landed, my grandmother sent me a message to tell me that Jeremy couldn’t go because there was no room for him in the car. This is not right. When you break up with your partner, you shouldn’t leave your child as well. Jeremy has nothing to do with it: Marcell will always be his father and he needs his father.
