Hamburger SV has extended the expiring contract of winger Bakery Jatta for another five years. “He has the heart in Hamburg,” said sports director Jonas Boldt at the general meeting of the second division soccer team on Sunday. According to media reports, the Bundesliga clubs FC Augsburg and Werder Bremen are said to have shown interest in the Gambier.

The 25-year-old made 191 competitive appearances for Hamburg, scoring 27 goals and 25 assists. “When I came here, the people in and around the club welcomed me, gave me a home and always supported me. I am very grateful for that and want to give something back to them in every game,” said Jatta.
Another personnel change was also announced on Sunday: Hamburger SV is loaning the Japanese Masaya Okugawa from FC Augsburg for six months. The 27-year-old midfielder had only moved from Arminia Bielefeld to FCA before this season, but only played twice in the Bundesliga after breaking his collarbone.
