The 2024 ISU Figure Skating World Championships in Montreal, Canada started with a bang as the first gold medal was awarded in the pairs skating competition. The Canadian team of Diana Stratto and Maxime Deschamps wowed the home crowd with their stellar performance, claiming the top spot on the podium.

However, the day was not as successful for Chinese figure skater Jin Boyang, who struggled in the men’s singles short program. Despite a strong training process, Jin Boyang failed to deliver in the competition, missing the free skate after two failed jumps.

In the subsequent pairs free skating competition, the Chinese pair Peng Cheng and Wang Lei also faced disappointment as they finished in 16th place. The duo acknowledged that they have room for improvement in their performance and are planning to work on their training and program for the upcoming season.

Despite the setbacks, both Jin Boyang and Peng Cheng/Wang Lei remain determined to bounce back stronger in the future. With a focus on improving their skills and addressing their weaknesses, the Chinese skaters are ready to face the challenges ahead and make a strong comeback in the world of figure skating.
