Johnny Carera after the accident: doctors ‘positively surprised by the progress’

Johnny Carera is still hospitalized in intensive care at the Niguarda hospital in Milan, following the road accident that involved him on Friday 26 November on the A4 near Agrate. The prognosis remains reserved, but there is a cautious optimism on the evolution of the health conditions of the manager, among others, of Pogacar and Nibali. His brother Alex reports it: “The doctors were pleasantly surprised by Johnny’s progress.”

STATE – “The ‘windows’ during the day are getting wider – continues Alex -, the drugs have been reduced, while at night he remains sedated. He cannot speak yet, but he manages to communicate through a table where he indicates the letters. He doesn’t remember anything about the accident, while he asked me about work things, like how the criterium in Montecarlo had gone (which took place on Sunday 28, 2 days after the accident, ed). Johnny is responding well to stimuli, and in the next few days it should be possible to operate on his fractured collarbone. We must be careful but the direction seems the right one “.
