Shots fired at Super Bowl victory parade – one dead, several injured

A person was killed in the USA when shots were fired at the big parade celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory. 10 to 15 others were injured in the incident. Two armed suspects were arrested.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ big parade after their fourth Super Bowl title was overshadowed by a serious incident. Shots were fired on the sidelines of the event on Wednesday. A fire department spokesman said one person was killed. Up to 15 people were injured, said Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves. Three of them were in mortal danger and five were seriously injured.
Police said two armed suspects were arrested. There was initially no information available about the motive.

The shots caused panic among the many fans. Victims were treated while lying on the ground before being taken away on stretchers by rescue workers.
“I thought it was fireworks,” witness John O’Connor told The Kansas City Star. He heard “between 15 and 20 shots in a short period of time.” Many police officers were at the scene, which was cordoned off with yellow tape.

According to official information, the shots were fired near the train station near a parking garage. It was unclear whether the crime was connected to the victory parade. TV images showed how the event site was evacuated. The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their fourth Super Bowl title at the big parade.
