Anna Comarella returns to the most important stage of cross-country skiing. In fact, there is also the Cortina delle Fiamme Oro among those called up for the Tour de ski, the stage race that will take place from tomorrow to 4 January between Switzerland, Germany and Italy. For Anna this is the return to the World Cup after the first part of the season spent between Fis, Coppa Italia and Opa cup races, in search of the condition after mononucleosis in the summer had forced her to a sudden stop in preparation.

“I am happy with this call-up, I wanted to return to the Cup”, comments the girl who grew up in the Cortina Ski club and now one of the most important realities of blue cross-country skiing, “in the last Opa Cup races I felt better sensations and also the gaps. they are thinner than in previous races. In classical, particularly, it seems to me that I have reached an acceptable form. I hope that the Tour de ski will give me the right condition to face the second part of the season in the best conditions ».

The Tour will be one of the essential moments in view of the formation of the blue team that will participate in the Olympic Games in Beijing, an experience, that of the Olympics, which Anna already experienced four years ago in Korea and which, of course, she wants to repeat in 2022. As for Comarella, the Tour will also serve to get back on condition also for Davide Graz, the very young Sappada of the Fiamme Gialle, also held back by some health problems in this first part of the season.

In addition to Comarella and Graz, Federico Pellegrino, Francesco De Fabiani, Giandomenico Salvadori, Maicol Rastelli, Paolo Ventura, Michael Hellweger, Alessandro Chiocchetti, Martin Coradazzi, Greta Laurent, Caterina Ganz, Lucia Scardoni, Cristina Pittin and Martina Di Centa will compete.

As many as 400 points for the overall World Cup standings will be awarded through the Tour de Ski, to which must be added the potential 50 for the victory of each single race, thus making a total of 700.

The event will obviously affect the World Cup, as it happens every year. The ranking of the men’s World Cup is so balanced that it will inevitably suffer a major shake after the stage race.
