Last minute! This Venezuelan may be close to returning to the Yankees

The New York Yankees organization is currently in a tight race for first place in the American League East Division. As they gear up for an important upcoming series, they received some positive news regarding one of their Venezuelan players.

Creole shortstop Oswald Peraza has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 season due to a right shoulder injury. This setback has prevented him from earning a spot on the team so far. In response, the Yankees have announced that Peraza will begin a rehabilitation assignment at the Triple-A branch in order to showcase his readiness to return to the Major Leagues.

The 23-year-old player is eager to demonstrate his skills and secure a place on the current roster. With the team’s eyes set on the postseason, Peraza aims to be a crucial asset to his coaching staff in the second half of the season.

Reflecting on Peraza’s performance in the 2023 season, he played 52 games with 173 official at-bats. He scored 15 runs, recorded 33 hits, eight doubles, two home runs, 14 RBIs, four stolen bases, 13 walks, and 50 strikeouts, with an average of 1.91.

As Peraza embarks on his rehabilitation journey, Yankees fans eagerly await his return to the lineup, hoping he can make a significant impact in the team’s pursuit of postseason success.
