Actor Will Ferrell is set to be the next show business celebrity to invest in an English football club. The 56-year-old is set to join second division club Leeds United, as reported by the BBC, “The Athletic” and “The Telegraph”. As a result, Ferrell, an avid sports fan, is said to have acquired a “significant minority stake.”
According to the BBC, he will have no influence on decisions at the club. Leeds United and Ferrell have not yet commented on the deal. Ferrell is already co-owner of the American soccer club Los Angeles FC.
