Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Starting to Find His Groove in 2024 Season

During the last twelve days in Toronto, the Dominican first baseman has looked quite similar to what he showed in 2021 after a slow start to the 2024 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays have been below expectations in the first month and a half of the 2024 campaign, largely due to the poor offensive production from their main figures, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., especially during the month of April.
Despite having a solid pitching group, the team has found themselves in last place in the eastern division of the American League. However, there may be a turnaround on the horizon, particularly for Guerrero Jr.
The first baseman has not lived up to his 2021 season, where he was a runner-up for the AL MVP award and won the Hank Aaron award for the best hitter in the league. However, after a slow start to the 2024 season, Guerrero Jr. has shown signs of his offensive prowess in the last 12 games.
In his first 27 games of 2024, Guerrero Jr. had a batting average of just .206 with an OPS of .643, three home runs, and 10 RBIs. But since April 27, he has turned things around, hitting .408 with a .983 OPS, one home run, and nine RBIs in his last 12 games.
This recent hot streak has significantly raised Guerrero Jr.’s season statistics to a .272 average with a .751 OPS, showing a drastic improvement from his slow start to the season.
While Guerrero Jr. has shown inconsistency in the past, his recent performance is a clear indication that he has the ability to hit like the best in the league. This is a positive sign for the Blue Jays, who will need all areas of their game to improve if they want to compete in the year.
