“Dumped after 15 years from a 30-second phone call.” Last weekend Yari Masoch received the communication from the new company Dolomiti Bellunesi that it will not be taken into consideration for the preparation of the squad in view of the next Serie D tournament. After a good part of the path in the youth sector, 300 appearances in the first team with the Belluno shirt and more than 40 goals, the Gosaldo midfielder will not be part of the new project. Yari just has to accept the decision made by the club, but does not hide the bitterness for how he was given the news. “I was definitely embittered, especially with the coach Lauria who in his ways and timing proved to be a small man”, explains Masoch, “the decision not to confirm I was told it was his, but he didn’t even call me. to communicate it to me and perhaps to confront me: he made others do it. His choice, like it or not, of course I have to accept, but I was hoping I had earned a different respect after all these years. Evidently this was not the case. I can understand what the choice of the new club has been, and I hope that the players who arrive at double what I would cost will also make the same. To close the topic, I subsequently called the technician who indicated my work situation among the reasons for my exclusion: but I’m not the only one to work and play … ».
BLUE-YELLOW HEART
In recent years Yari Masoch has always shown great attachment to Belluno, even when in more than one summer his phone rang with the possibility of changing shirts for new adventures, which however the Gosaldo midfielder never accepted. “I have always honored the Gialloblù jersey by putting Belluno before my personal, economic and sporting interests”, continues Masoch, “now I realize once again more that in today’s football there is no room for romanticism, certain values do not exist more. Up to three days before I had been told some things, then they were all upset ».
AN UNEXPECTED EXCLUSION
Yari Masoch honestly did not expect not to be considered for the new, ambitious project; and even less that it was his coach who didn’t want him in the team. “I was not even allowed an interview to explain the reasons for the exclusion,” says Masoch, “this left me really thrilled. I thought I deserved better treatment, even just a meeting, so that I could explain the real reasons to my face. This was not the case and I was very sorry. I think I have given a lot from a human point of view and I expected a different treatment. What happened? I do not know. I’m used to always saying things to people’s faces and this characteristic doesn’t pay off in football ».
A FUTURE IN THE BELLUNESE?
The offers in Masoch are not lacking right now. Since the news of the cut spread, the “Maso” telephone has continued to ring non-stop. Several teams in Serie D have looked for him but also in the province Cavarzano Limana and Fiori Barp immediately made themselves heard. «I still don’t know what I will do», Masoch concludes, «luckily someone around who appreciates me has stayed and I have several talks on the agenda in the coming days. I will do my evaluations with all the calm you need, I am open to all solutions.
