On September 15, the 14th National Games of the People’s Republic of China opened in Xi’an, Shaanxi. As the largest and highest-level comprehensive sports event in China, the 14th National Games will showcase the achievements of my country’s competitive sports and will further demonstrate my country’s achievements in competitive sports. The people-centered sports development ideology played the strongest voice of “All the people and the National Games move together in one heart”.

Starting from the Tianjin National Games four years ago, mass events have been on the stage of the National Games for the first time, and ordinary people have become one of the protagonists of the National Games, which is one of the important measures for my country to continue to promote the reform of sports. The 14th National Games continued to set up mass events, through the extensive participation of the masses, bottom-up selection of events, to achieve the effect of “National Games for all”.

Mass events for the 14th National Games, including table tennis, badminton, tennis, football, basketball, air volleyball, shuttlecock, roller skating, dragon boat, bocce, go, chess, chess, bridge, Chinese wrestling, etc. 15 There are four competition events and four performance events including square dance, radio gymnastics, Health Qigong and Tai Chi.

There are 15 major events and 142 minor events in the competition category, and 4 major events and 43 minor events in the performance category. The top eight contestants will be admitted and awarded certificates, and the top three will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. Performance projects will be rewarded in a “level” manner, with first, second, and third prizes.

Regarding the qualifications of participating athletes, the “General Rules of the Fourteenth People’s Republic of China Mass Games Activities Regulations” also clarify: Must be 25 years old (born before May 1, 1996), professional athletes (including retired athletes, except for the veteran group) ) It is not allowed to participate in competitions in professional projects and similar projects.

Before the final stage of the National Games, most of the mass events have been completed. Not long ago, four performance projects including square dance, radio gymnastics, Health Qigong, and Taijiquan have also been evaluated in Xi’an. The innovative competition model of “offline competition, online voting and evaluation” has been adopted. Online voting showed a total of 723 video works, with a total of more than 66 million online votes, and more than 70 million views on the performance platform, which achieved good social effects and created a good atmosphere for the holding of the final stage of the National Games.

The final stage of the National Games will hold four mass events including table tennis, badminton, petanque finals and Chinese-style wrestling pre-finals. Xi’an, Baoji, Xianyang, Weinan and other four places have made full preparations for the successful hosting of the event. Private masters from all over the country will also gather in the land of Sanqin during the National Games finals to show off their style. While we are cheering for the athletes in the arena, don’t forget to pay attention to ordinary people like you and me. Perhaps the next person to board the National Games mass events is you!
