2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic medals officially launched

The medal is inlaid with a piece of the original building material of the Eiffel Tower, making it a unique and symbolic representation of the host city.
The central feature of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic medals is the original building material of the Eiffel Tower, with the emblem of the current Olympic and Paralympic Games engraved on it. The design, in a hexagonal shape reminiscent of France’s topography, radiates light like the rays of the sun. The back of the medal features the Statue of Victory and the Panathinaiko Stadium, adding historical significance to the design.
Estanguet, chairman of the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee, expressed hopes that the medals would provide lasting memories of the Olympic Games, Paris, and France for the athletes. He emphasized the significance of combining the metal raw materials of the Eiffel Tower with the traditional gold, silver, and copper elements of the medals.
The 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic medals are designed by Chaumet, a renowned jeweler owned by French luxury goods giant LVMH. The medals, on display at Shangmei, are a result of the collaboration between the organizing committee and the esteemed jeweler known for its historical ties to iconic French figures.
A total of 5,084 medals will be produced for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, each using original construction materials from the Eiffel Tower and weighing approximately 18 grams, according to data from the International Olympic Committee.
