The expectation is growing for the 56th Rally of Friuli Venezia Giulia together with the 25th Rally Alpi Orientali Historic, the double race organized by Scuderia Friuli Acu scheduled for Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August (Friday the first “rhombuses” with free practice) . The race will be the fifth of the eight tests that make up the Wrc Italian Championship and will be a very important stage in the sprint for the Italian title, given the short ranking.
Currently leading the ranking is the Piacenza Andrea Carella (Skoda Fabia) with 46 points, ahead of Luca Pedersoli from Brescia (Citroen DS3 Wrc, 45 points) by one length. The latter is back from two heavy consecutive retirements that have definitely clipped his wings when he was at the top in both races and his name does not appear in the list of entries of the Friulian test. Behind the two in the lead, in third place (with 33.75 points), Luca Rossetti from Pordenone from Prata, former Italian and European champion, with the Hyundai i20 R5, also absent in the Treviso area and with the “spot” of retirement in Salento by accident, but four times on the top step of the podium on our roads.
A high-level presence is also announced at the 56th Rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia: Andrea Crugnola, official Hyundai driver in the Italian Championship, will be at the start of the race with the new Hyundai i20N Rally2, a car that the South Korean manufacturer made its debut at the world test of Ypres, Belgium. After the world championship event in Flanders, Hyundai logistics will go to Friuli to face a new and important test session with the collaboration of Friulmotor. The debut in our country, in this case in the Italian Wrc Championship, is a pride for the event of the Scuderia Friuli Acu, also confirming the excellent work done around the race, but also a sign of the goodness of the Friulian roads, considered a bench important test.
