A US general makes it known. C-17 arrived with Marines units
(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, AUG 16 – The Kabul airport reopened after a closure of a few hours due to security problems that threatened the evacuation operations: this was announced by Major General Hank Taylor, logistics expert in the General Staff USA. He explained that a C-17 with marines on board has landed at the Afghan airport, while the arrival of a second plane with an army unit is imminent, in order to ensure the safety of the airport.
